දළදා මාලිගාව (Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic)

 

බුදුන් වහන්සේගේ වම් දන්ත ධාතූන් වහන්සේ වැඩ සිටින ස්ථානය දළදා මාලිගාවයි. මෙය මහනුවර රාජධානියේ රජ මාලිගා සංකීර්ණය පිහිටා තිබූ ස්ථානයේ පිහිටා ඇත. යුනෙස්කෝ ලෝක උරුමයක් ලෙස නම්කර ඇති මෙය ලංකාවේ සංචාරය කරන සංචාරකයන් අතර ජනප්‍රියම ස්ථාන වලින් එකකි. මෙය ආශ්‍රිතව සතර දේවාලයන් සහ පසෙකින් මහනුවර වැව පිහිටා ඇත.

 

This temple is the place where the Relic of Tooth of Lord Buddha houses. It is situated in the royal palace complex of the kingdom of Kandy. And is surrounded by Four fanes and sided by Kandy Lake. This is one of the most popular places among the tourists to Sri Lanka and is named as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

 

වික්ටෝරියා වේල්ල (Victoria Dam)

 

මීටර් 122 ක උසකින් සහ මීටර් 520ක දිගකින් යුත් වික්ටෝරියා වේල්ල මහවැලි ගඟ හරස්කර සාදා ඇත. වක්‍රාකාර හැඩයකින් යුතුව නිමවා ඇති මෙය 1978 අගෝස්තු 14 වැඩ අරඹා 1985 අප්‍රේල් 12 දින අවසන්කරන ලදි.  දොරටු 8 කින් යුතුව නිමවා ඇති මෙහි වාන් දොරටු ජල මට්ටම ඉහල ගිය විට ස්වයංක්‍රීයව විවෘත වන ලෙස සකසා ඇත. වික්ටෝරියා ජලාශය වාන් දැමීම දර්ශනීය අවස්ථාවක් ලෙස දැකිය හැකිය. මහනුවර - මහියංගන මාර්ගයේ මොරගහමුල මංසන්ධියෙන් හැරී කි.මී. 7.5 ක් පමණ ගමන්කල විට වික්ටෝරියා වේල්ල හමුවේ.

 

With a height of 122m and a length of 520m, the Victoria Dam is constructed blocking the path of the Mahaveli River. It is constructed with a curved structure which had been started in 14th August 1978 and announced completion in 12th April 1985. The Dam consists of 8 spillway doors which will automatically opens when the water levels are high. The Spilling of the Victoria Reservoir is a picturesque occasion. Visitors can go to the Victoria dam by turning into the road by the Moragahamula Junction from the Kandy - Mahiyangana Highway and continuing for about 7.5km s.

 

මහියංගණ රජමහා විහාරය (Mahiyangana Temple)

 

බුදුන් වහන්සේ ලංකාවට ප්‍රථම වරට වැඩම කල අවස්ථාවේ සමන් දෙවියන්ට ලබාදුන් කේෂධාතු බුදුන් වහන්සේ ජීවමානව වැඩ සිටියදී නිධන් කර තැනූ චෛත්‍යය පිහිටා ඇති මහියංගණ රාජමහා විහාරය ලංකාවේ ඉපැරණිතම සිද්ධස්ථානයක් ලෙස සැලකේ. මහියංගණ නගරය ආසන්නයේම පිහිටා ඇත.

 

The Mahiyangana Stupa (pagoda) is constructed on the first visit of Lord Buddha to Sri Lanka. It was constructed by the God Saman for Keeping of sacred hair given to him by Lord Buddha to be worshipped. This Stupa was constructed while Lord Buddha was alive and is one of the oldest temples of Sri Lanka. This is situated near the Mahiyangana Town.

 

සොරබොර වැව (Lake Sorabora)

 

බුලතා නම් වූ යෝධ ශක්තිය සහිත මිනිසෙකු විසින් නිර්මාණය කල බව සැලකෙන මෙය ගලින් කල සොරොව්වකින් සහ පිටවානකින් සමන්විත සුවිශේෂ නිර්මාණයකි. විශාල ජල පරිමාවක් සහිතව පැරණි සිංහල වැව් තාක්ෂණයට වඩා වෙනස් තාක්ෂණයක් භාවිත කර මෙය නිමවා ඇත. වර්තමානයේ මෙය නැරඹීමට යන අයෙකුට බෝට්ටු සේවයක් මඟින් වැවේ අසිරිය නැරඹීමට අවස්ථාව සලසා ඇත. මහියංගන නගරයේ සිට කි.මී. 3 ක් පමණ දුරකින් පිහිටා ඇත.

 

This Lake is said to be made by a single giant power man called Bulatha (The Giant - Bulatha). The Water channel and the spillway is fully made in Stone by carving into a rock. It contains a huge amount of water and is made using a different technology than the ancient Sinhala lake technology. Visitors can enjoy a boat-ride around the beautiful lake. This is situated about 3kms away from the Mahiyangana Town.

 

පුංචි ලෝකාන්තය (Little Worlds-end)

 

හුන්නස්ගිරිය සිට මීමුරේ මාර්ගයේ කි.මී 10 ක් පමණ දුරින් ඩීන්ස්ටන් වනසංරක්ෂණ කාර්යාලය අසලින් මීටර් 800 පමණ ඇතුලට ගමන්කල විට පුංචි ලෝකාන්තය හමුවේ. ඉතා විශාල දුරක් සහ කඳුකරය දර්ශනීය අයුරින් දිස්වන මෙහි කිලෝමීටරයකට වඩා උසැති ප්‍රපාතයක් දක්නට ඇත. පුංචි ලෝකාන්තය මුදුනේදී ආරක්ෂාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් විශේෂයෙන් සැලකිලිමත් විය යුතු වන්නේ ආරක්ෂක වැටක් හෝ නිලධාරීන් නොමැති බැවිනි. පිවිසුමේදී වන සංරක්ෂණ කාර්යාලයෙන් අවසරපත් මිලදීගත යුතුය.

 

Mini Worlds-end is located in about 10 kms away from hunnasgiriya town while continuing to Meemure on Hunnasgiriya - Meemure road. The entrance is located at the Deanston Knuckles forest reservation office and visitors must obtain permits to enter from the same. The mini worlds-end is about 800m into the jungle from the forest office. Safety is a must concern on top of the Mini Worlds-End since there are no Guard fences or officers.

 

අට්ටලමෙට්ටුව සුළං කපොල්ල (Attalamettuwa Gap-Wind)

 

වසරේ මැයි සිට අගෝස්තු දක්වා කාලයේදී වේගවත් සුළං ධාරාවක් හමා යන සුළං කපොල්ලකි. කඳුවැටියේ දෙපසම එකසේ දැකගත හැකි මෙම ස්ථානයේ නැවතී දර්ශනීය වටපිටාවක් දැකගත හැකිය. මීමුරේ ගමනේ හමුවන සුවිශේෂ මංසන්ධියක් වන මෙම ස්ථානයෙන් මීමුරේ ගම්මානය වෙත වන කි.මී. 15 පමණ දුරක් ඇති පිවිසුම් මාර්ගය ඇරඹේ.

 

Attalamettuwa Gap-Wind is a place where the wind flows between the two sides of the mountain range. Visitors can see a picturesque view of the both sides of the mountains. This is a unique landmark in the tour to Meemure. Here starts the entrance road leading to Meemure village with the distance about 15kms to the village.

 

වෙඩිලුණු ගුහාව (Wedilunu (Gunpowder) Cave)

 

රාවණ රජුගේ කාලයේ යුධ කටයුතු සඳහා වෙඩිබෙහෙත් නිෂ්පාදනයට වෙඩිලුණු ලබාගත් ස්ථානය බවට මෙම ගුහාව සැලකේ. මීමුරේ මාර්ගයේ කුඹුක්ගොල්ල මංසන්ධියෙන් හැරී කි.මී. 8 පමණ ගමන්කල පසු මෙම ස්ථානය හමුවේ. (මෙම මාර්ගයේ කි.මී. 6 ක් පමණ රළු ගමනට සුදුසු වාහනයකින් ගමන්කර ඉතිරිය පයින් ගමන් කල යුතුය)

 

It is said that the legendry King Ravana's time they have acquired materials for gunpowder from this cave. For visiting this place visitors have to turn to the Kumbukgolla Road from the Kumbukgolla Junction and continue for about 8 kms. (It is possible to go about 6 kms on this road for a rough vehicle and the remaining distance must be on-foot)

 

අලුගල්ලෙන (Ash Rock Cave)

 

ස්වභාවික අළු වර්ගයක් සහිත මෙම ගල්ලෙන තුල සෑරීමේදීද එම අළු විශේෂය තවදුරටත් මතුවීම විශේෂිතව ඇත. මෙයට පිවිසීම සඳහා කරඹකැටිය මංසන්ධියෙන් හැරී කි.මී. 6 ක් පමණ පයින්ම ගමන්කල යුතුය.

 

This is a cave with a special kind of a Natural ash like substance. This substance continues to come out even when digging. To visit this cave you have to turn to the footpath from Karambaketiya Junction and walk about 6kms.

 

 

ඇලිහත ගඟ (Seven Springs River)

 

නිර්මල දියදහරෙන් පිරුණු මධ්‍යම ප්‍රමාණයේ දියඇලි කිහිපයකින් සමන්විත නොඉඳුල් ගංගාවක් මිනිස් දෑසට විවරවන සුවිශේෂ ස්ථානයකි.

 

This is a place where a virgin river filled in clean water and several medium sized waterfalls opens to human eye.

 

 

හීන් ගඟ (Heen River)

 

මීමුරේ යන මඟ හමුවන තවත් සුවිශේෂ ගංගාවක් වන මෙහි විඩාව නිවාගැනීමට සුදුසු වටපිටාවක් ඇති අතර වඩා ආරක්ෂාකාරී ලෙස ස්නානයටත් හැකියාව ඇත. මෙහි පාලමෙන් ඉහල කොටසෙන් පානීය ජලය ලබාගන්නා නිසා නෑමට අවස්ථාව ඇත්තේ පාලමට පහලින් පමණි.

 

A unique landmark on the way to Meemure, Heen River is a place where you can relax and bathe. This is a more secure place to bathe. It is important not to use the upper side of the Bridge since the village people get drinking water from the river. But you can relax and bathe on the other side.

 

මීමුරේ මී ගස (Ancient Mee Tree)

 

මීමුරේ ගම්මානය සංකේතවත් කෙරෙන මෙම සුවිශේෂ මී ගස වසර 500 ක් පමණ පැරණි ඇතැයි කියවේ.

 

This is the symbolic Mee tree which symbolizes the Meemure village. It is said that this tree is possibly 500 years old.

 

 

දෙකිඳ (Rock Pool)

 

ගංගාවන් දෙකක් එක්වන ස්ථානයේ පිහිටා ඇති ස්වභාවික ගල්තලාවක් මත පිහිටි විශාල තටාකයක් වේ. මෙහි සිසිල් පිරිසිදු ජලයේ පිහිනා යා හැකි අතර ජලයට පැනීමේ ක්‍රීඩාව (කොන්ෆිඩන්ස් ජම්ප්) සඳහා සුදුසු වටපිටාවක් ඇත. (මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය භාවිත කර මෙම ක්‍රීඩාවන්හි යෙදීම ඉහල අවදානම් සහිතය)

 

This is a big rock pool which is situated in a place where two rivers join. It is possible to do confidence stunt jumps into water and do swimming in cool and clean water at this place.

 

 

ඇඳිරිගල (Andirigala Rock Mountain)

 

විශාල ප්‍රමාණයේ ගල්කුළකින් සෑදුණු කන්දකි. පැය එකහමාරක පමණ දුෂ්කර පාගමනකින් පසුව එහි මුදුනට ළඟාවිය හැක. මීමුරේ ගම්මානය කුරුළු ඇසින් දකින්නට සුදුසුම ස්ථානයකි. සුන්දර දසුනින් පිරුණු ස්ථානයකි.

 

A big rock mountain with a picturesque scenery. This is the perfect place to see the Meemure village in a bird's eye view. It is possible to reach the top after a one and half hour of climbing.

 

සූරිය අරණ (Sooriya Arana)

 

මීමුරේ සංචාරක ආකර්ෂණය වැඩියෙන්ම දිනාගත් ස්ථානය ලෙස සැලකිය හැකි මෙය ප්‍රසිද්ධියට පත් වන්නේ "සූරිය අරණ" චිත්‍රපටයේ දර්ශනතල සඳහා යොදාගැනීමෙනි. ගල් මත ලිස්සායාමේ ක්‍රීඩාව සහ ජලයට පැනීමේ (කොන්ෆිඩන්ස් ජම්ප්) ක්‍රීඩා අවස්ථා සලසාගත හැකිය. (මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය භාවිත කර මෙම ක්‍රීඩාවන්හි යෙදීම ඉහල අවදානම් සහිතය)

 

This is the top local tourist attraction in Meemure village. It became the major attraction after being used for scenes in the Sinhala kids movie "Sooriya Arana". One of the famous activities here is sliding on a slithery rock surface. And confidence jump to water is also very popular.

 

ලකේගල (Lakeygala - King Ravana's Chariot berthing)

 

රාවණ පුරාවෘත්තයේ සඳහන් වන දඬුමොනර යානය නැවැත්වූ බව සැලකෙන මෙම ස්ථානය මීමුරේ ගම්මානය හැඳින්වීමේ සංකේතයක් බඳු වේ. එමෙන්ම මීමුරේ ගම්මානය අවසන් වන්නේ මෙම ගල් කන්ද පාමුලින් වේ.

 

This is where it is said that the chariot of the legendary King Ravana was landed. This rock mountain is being used as a symbol of the Meemure village. Meemure village boundary lies at the bottom of this mountain.

 

 

දිය කැරැල්ල (Diyakaralla Waterfall)

 

මීමුරේ මාර්ගයේ සිට කි.මී. 5 ක් පමණ වනපෙත තුළින් ගමන්කල විට දක්නට ලැබෙන අඩි 150 ක් පමණ උසක සිට ගලා හැලෙන සුන්දර දිය ඇල්ලකි.

 

This is a beautiful waterfall hidden in the forest with a height of about 150 feet.
